Recipe: Potato Dog Treats
Potato dog treats – why? Because it’s Lily’s birthday, that’s why! Well, her birthday was on Monday and we celebrated in the morning with homemade potato dog treats.
When Bella turned 11 she got sweet potato dog treats, so it’s only fitting that Lily, turning 7 and all, gets chips, too. Lily loves, like loves salt and vinegar chips. The problem? She’s older and we’re afraid to give her too many processed items because we just love her so much. As such, I made her favourite treats, just no vinegar and only a tad of salt.
Try it!
How To Make
- Get some washed potatoes
- Slice the potatoes thinly
- Bake at 350 degrees for 12-18 minutes per side
- Let them cool, and add a tad of salt if you wish
- Feed to your dog
That’s it! So easy.
They look good, right? I’m sure if you tossed the potatoes in a bit of olive oil first, and some salt, they would be amazing. No olive oil for our pups, though. Just plain old chips.
Look at this bashful face – really? For me? Yes, princess, for you!
Okay! And away she eats…right over Bella. Oh, and Lily slobbers everywhere. It’s yucky, yet adorable.
See all that slobber? What a mess. Bella doesn’t mind, though, because Lily’s birthday means treats for her, too!
Me, well, I’m just having so much fun – I think they are so funny – and they flat out make me laugh so much.
She can smell them on the table and wants more.
Last one! and done.
Lily’s a sweet pup, not little since she’s a Great Dane, and she thinks she’s a lap dog most of the time. Overall, we had a marvellous Monday with her and are so happy to have her in our lives. Thanks for visiting and I’ll see you again this weekend for week 4 of 52 weeks of sewing!
Happy Thursday.
