Tomatoed onions are the secret to any Italian sausage or even an Italian seasoned chicken breast. They are rich in flavour and add a depth of sweetness that is delicious. This recipe is easy and takes only about 10 minutes total – if you really let your onions sweat. Let’s start!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 a white onion
  • small vine tomato
  • 1 teaspoon of shallot spice
  • 1-2 teaspoons of butter

First, gather all of your ingredients and wash the onion and tomato.

Next, thinly slice the white onion.

Add the butter to a hot pan and then add the onions.

Top with the seasoning. Cook the onions until they’re just about staring to caramelize. Cut the vine tomato and deseed it – take all the seeds and wetness out. Slice it very thinly and add it to the onions.

Cook the tomato and onions until the onions are very well caramelized. Then, you’re done!
