Recipe: Fruity Pebbles Treats

Fruity Pebbles treats – they’re gluten free (I know, right!) and chewy. Not only are they colourful, they pack a fruit filled punch. Let’s get cooking!

Ingredients

  • stick of salted butter
  • 15 oz of marshmallows
  • 2 tablespoons of vanilla
  • 8 cups of GF Fruity Pebbles

First, 8 cups of the Fruity Pebbles is exactly one 311g box. How perfect would it have been if it was 310g – so close! Haha. Ensure your marshmallows are GF, too (if you need, I suppose) and let’s get to melting.

Marshmallows!

Oh, and for the marshmallows, 15oz is 60 jumbo mallows, so I usually count them out in groups of 4. I find this trick works to easily break the recipe down to 1/4 if needed (2 cups of cereal and 16 mallows – the extra one is for good luck!).

Okay, back to the recipe. Grab a pot and melt the stick of butter. While the butter is melting, spray a 9×17 pan with a bit of cooking spray, then set it aside. Once it’s melted add in the 15 oz of marshmallows. Stir with a spoon on medium to low heat until the mallows are melted. Then add in the vanilla.

When all is melted, dump in the Fruity Pebbles.

Don’t they just look so colourful? I love how bright they are. Bryce and I tasted the colours individually and we’re convinced that they’re all the same flavour, like Fruit Loops. Oh, and if you’re in a chocolatey mood, they make Cocoa Pebbles and they’re gluten free, too!

Once you dump in the pebbles, be sure to stir in the cereal and mix well.

Once it’s all combined, press into the 9×17 pan and chill for 4-6 hours.
