Recipes: Favourite Fall Eats
Favourite fall eats. It’s September, I know, hard to believe, right? Fall is so beautiful with the leaves changing colour and back to school festivities, it’s like a new year. So, let’s celebrate with some awesome food.
Favourite Fall Eats
Red lentil chili warms the soul.
Plus, it’s easy to cook up a huge batch and freeze for lunches. I actually put it in freezer bags (I know, single use plastics) and then it defrosts in the fridge at work in the morning. Hearty, filling, but not overly heavy.
Writing this is making me hungry – I think I might make some of this chili soon!
Pumpkin pancakes are a huge fall favourite.
With the craze around the PSL, pumpkin spiced latte, it’s no wonder pumpkin is still a traditional fall classic. I usually make a large batch of these pancakes so we have leftovers for breakfast on work days. They work well in the toaster and I even put peanut butter on them. Delicious.
Another favourite fall recipe is this warm autumn salad.
I made it last year for Canadian Thanksgiving and it was so good. Warm, full of flavour and just a touch of sweetness. Plus the added texture from the nuts is just bag on. It’s great for potlucks or dinner parties in the fall when someone asks you to bring a side dish.
Does anyone else find potlucks tricky? I usually want to bring something good, yet something that will present well and hold up to sitting around for a while. What’s your favourite potluck item? Okay, now I digress – back to fall recipes and all the warmth of autumn.
Not only am I going to make the red lentil chili soon I’m also going to bake up some pancakes. Yes, I can’t wait!
Well, there you have it – some warm cozy recipes to keep you warm this fall. Cook up and eat well. Thanks for visiting.
