American Thanksgiving 2024

American Thanksgiving 2024 – we BBQ’d a rotisserie chicken and then made tacos for the holiday. What did you have!? One of my favourite things to make at Thanksgiving is mashed potatoes, mainly because then I can make golden quesadillas with the leftover mashed. Okay, let’s get cooking.

First up, tacos are one of my favourite things to eat. We have them a handful of times a month – and not the same ones, but different combinations. Corn and bean salsa, bean whip, and even the spicy blender sauce make its way to the corn shell at times. This time, however, we went with a rotisserie chicken and a few classics.

What are your favourite taco toppings? Hot sauce? Ya, we’re fans, too.

The Mexican street corn is a hit. It’s one of our go-to items. Plus, if we ever have extra, it works well with nacho chips, or on eggs in the morning.

The chicken off the BBQ is flavourful, has a bit of char, and is tender. All perfect for tacos.

Let’s not forget the potatoes – spicy ones (I just left off the parmesan cheese this time).

Oh, and the guac. This new recipe (here it is again) utilizes jalapeƱos instead of tomatoes. It’s perfect if you’re making a bigger batch and won’t be eating it all right away.

Well, there you have it – American Thanksgiving 2024. Tacos is the perfect way to celebrate the holiday.

I don’t know about you, but family recipes are some of the best and often times I can’t wait to special holidays to have them (life is short, why wait?!). So, we often have special items like monkey bread or ice cream cake during non-holiday times. Fun, eh?! But what that means, is that sometimes around the holidays we’re in the mood for something less traditional. Hence, tacos. All in all, it’s fun to change things up.

Wishing you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving!
