Recipe: Independence Day Treats 2026
Independence Day treats 2026 – these sweet snacks are delicious! We made a version of these for Canada Day, too, and they were oh, so good. These are made with gluten free crackers, so dig in. Okay, let’s bake up.
If you’re like me and you’re going gluten free, be sure your ingredients are fully GF – the Schar brand is my go-to for dinner crackers. Time to bake.
Ingredients
- 24 saltine crackers
- 1 stick of salted butter
- 1/2 cup of packed brown sugar
- 2/3 tablespoon of vanilla
- heaping 1/2 cup of chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup of red, white, and blue sprinkles
First, line a baking sheet with tin foil – I actually used parchment paper this time, and it worked out well. This will help keep the mess at bay and will make for a speedy cleanup. Then, heat the oven to 335 degrees.
Lay out the 24 gluten free crackers on the pan – I used a small standard baking sheet.
Next, melt the butter in a pan on low and once fully melted, add the vanilla and brown sugar, then whisk until well combined. Bring to a bubble for about 3-4 minutes, and then pour over the crackers and slip into the oven for another 3-4 minutes.
Once the pan comes out of the oven, cover with chocolate chips and let it sit for 3-4 minutes (allowing the chips to melt), then spread and top with the sprinkles. Chill for an hour, crack and eat up.
Also, I didn’t crack these, but cut them. You can see in the photo above that some of the cracker pieces got layered. In this batch, many of my gluten-free crackers were broken, yet not to worry; the treats still tasted just as good.
Well, there you have it – Independence Day treats 2026 – sweet eats!
Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you have an awesome Saturday.
See you again soon.
